I saw the full trailer for The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising and it looks spectacularly shitty.
The books were set in Cornwall and Wales and shaped by Celtic myth and Arthurian legends. In the film, Will Stanton is American and Merriman Lyon, described as an old but ageless intellectual type, complete with a shock of white hair, is being played by Ian McShane, who is awesome and all (I can’t wait to see him on Coraline), but he doesn’t exactly fit the description.
Thank you, Hollywood types, for ruining a Newberry Award-winning literary classic and much-loved childhood gem.
